What level will my player play?Players are placed in age divisions based on their birth year. Players may not play down an age division, regardless of the reason. The soccer season runs fall to spring and the age division is calculated on the spring season. For example, in the 2024-2025 season, a player born in 2016 would be in U9. 2025 - 2016 = U9

Can I make a request?Yes, however please know that it is not guaranteed. Refunds will not be issued due to requests not being honored. During registration there is a comments box that you can put your request into. If you are unable to make the request there, please send an email to info@sailorsoccerclub.com

What does my player need?Players will need shin guards covered by socks, a soccer ball, cleats*, and a water bottle. *Tennis shoes are allowed, however cleats with a toe like baseball, softball, and football are not allowed.

Is the uniform kit required?The uniform has been updated as of Spring 2025. All U9+ players will need a uniform kit, and all players will need to have the updated kit starting in the Fall of 2025. U6 & U8 players are provided a t-shirt.

Can I pick my uniform number?Numbers for all players, including U6 & U8, will be randomly assigned.

What size ball do I need?U6 & U8 - Size 3 U9 & U11 - Size 4 U13+ - Size 5

When are practices?Practices start at 5:00, 6:00, or 7:00 Monday-Thursday. Exact days and times are determined by the coach.

When are games?Games are typically Saturday mornings to mid-afternoon. Due to the volume of teams and other club's field availability, some games do start later in the day and/or may be played on a Sunday or during a weeknight.

Can I request a certain day/time for practice?Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate practice requests. Coaches pick their preference on their practice day and time after teams are formed.

When will we get a game schedule?U9+ games are scheduled by Great Lakes Coed Soccer League. The goal is to have all schedules available two weeks before the first games. The U6 and U8 schedules are done by the club, however due to coaches having teams in Great Lakes, we wait until those are available to schedule the U6 and U8.

Where are games and practices?Games and practices are either at Sailor Soccer Complex behind Ross Park Elementary School or the Mona Shores Transportation Office at the corner of W Norton Ave and McCracken. Away games for U9+ are at various clubs within Great Lakes Coed Soccer League.

Who can play for Sailor Soccer Club?Anyone can play for the club regardless of what school they attend or where they reside. All players must be 4 by the first game of the season. For U19, players must be in high school or a high school equivalent.

When does the season start?The first games in the spring are the Saturday after spring break. The first games in the fall are the Saturday after Labor Day. Practice starts 1-2 weeks prior to the first games.
